I am a manager for a electric co-op and I am not really interested in someones credit score probably most of my employees do not have great credit because the pay scale in our area is not that high. Our insurance company requires that we do a employee check on all new and existing employees. They will not insure anyone with a DWI or DUI. After searching the internet I found a company out there, www.crimefinder.com that just does employee background checks they said they have been doing this for 28 years so that is who I am going with them.

I know when I run credit report on a potential new tenant I get a credit score and a list of who they owe and how they pay etc. but what exactly do I get when I do criminal background check? Will this information tell me if they are a sex offender, a drunk or a thief? I did some research on the interned and came up with a company www.quickbackgroundchecks.com that says their criminal background checks do search for sex offenders, DWI’S and what they call larceny (which is laymans terms theft). I just ran my first search with them and it came back with a sex offender!! and his picture.

I just found out today the company I use to run a criminal background check on my potential new tenants can also, much to my surprise, do a eviction search.How cool is that. I called Tenant screening service in Austin, Texas and spoke with the head of customer support a Ms. Murphy and told her I was tired of leasing to deadbeat tenants and wanted to know if they offered any kind of eviction search.  I am tired of leasing to someone else’s evictions.  She was very helpful and explained they did offer this information and should always run a  tenant credit check and eviction search to make sure any possible tenants were okay to lease to.  She explained www.quickbackgroundchecks.com can do these for me in about 10 seconds.  Wow modern technology… what great information for the future.

My insurance company is now requiring that we do a driving records on all of our employees every year. I was wondering if the DWI’S and DUI’S appear on driving records or do they just appear on criminal background checks? I have done MVR’S in the past and did not see any DWI’S so I was wondering if I needed to run both types of checks.  I called customer support for www.instantbackgroundchecks.us they said they should appear on the driving records but it can vary by state law.

I hired this young man to work in the warehouse of our company, nice clean cut guy. I didn’t really care about his credit I figured it probably wasn’t that great any way but I did want to know if he had any kind of a criminal record. That means houses are on sale.  Great time for a ambitious person to make a lot of money on the horizon.  People like us are called bottom feeders.  We like to buy when things are cheap.  Once you have found your foreclosure before you lease it out make sure you do a very good tenant screening.  This should include a eviction search, criminal search, and credit report.

I just finished remodeling my duplex it has been very expensive I was burned by the last tenant.  They left holes in the walls, cigarette burns in the carpet and loads of trash in the property.
